Does the extreme itching around the anal area bother you? How about the itchy or painful lump near your anus? Are you having painful bowel movements?

If you answer YES to most of these questions, then you may have hemorrhoids

What are hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are very similar to varicose veins. They are swollen veins near the anus or rectal area.

Experts don’t know what exactly causes them, but hemorrhoids are usually caused by an increase in pressure in the veins near the anal or rectal area. It can happen as a result of obesity, pregnancy, constant straining during bowel movements, and sitting for long periods of time.

Should you be worried about your hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are rarely serious BUT they can be painful and be a great source of discomfort and embarrassment. They can lead to anal itching, irritation around the anus, and blood on the tissue after having a bowel movement.

In rare cases, people with hemorrhoids may develop iron-deficiency anemia due to blood loss, blood clots in the swollen vein, and bleeding.

What are the treatment options for hemorrhoids?

In the past few years, treatment options for hemorrhoids have grown and dramatically improved.

Premier Surgical Hemorrhoid Treatment Center of Knoxville offers non-invasive, non-surgical options to make hemorrhoid relief quicker, easier, and virtually pain-free.

Infrared coagulation is one of the procedures we perform. This world’s leading in-office treatment for hemorrhoids uses a small probe that exposes the vein above the hemorrhoid to bursts of warm light, causing the hemorrhoid to shrink and eventually recede.

If you want to find out more about it and other hemorrhoid treatment options we offer, you can call our CONFIDENTIAL HEMORRHOID HOTLINE at (865) 588-9952. Premier Surgical  Hemorrhoid Treatment Center is the ONLY dedicated hemorrhoid clinic in East Tennessee.
