LINX REFLUX MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The LINX system is a newer FDA-approved option for treating GERD.

The LINX device is a tiny bracelet of magnetic titanium beads. In this minimally invasive procedure, the device is placed around the Lower Esophageal Sphincter (LES) to tighten  the opening and prevent acid reflux.

The LINX magnets open to allow food and liquid to pass into the stomach, while preventing stomach acid from backing up into the esophagus. With other acid reflux procedures it can sometimes be difficulty to belch or vomit, but the LINX allows some venting because it can be opened with enough pressure from the stomach.

It normally takes less than an hour for a surgeon to install the LINX device. Side effects are usually minimal.
